Most of it goes to our and taking care of it. We buy shampoos, conditioners, leave-in conditioner, curl enhancer cream, hair oil for the
scalp and to lock in the moisture in our hair. Hair mask, protein treatments, and even sometimes products to take care of hair that is dyed or
press or permed. Sometimes a certain brand product doesn't work so another 50 to 100 dollars is spent for new product that will work. For instance,
let say Dinah use Camille Rose hair care product, she bought shampoo, conditioner, leave-in conditioner, hair cream and curl enhancer , and an hair
oil. None of the products work with her hair type or the condition it is in. So Dinah went out to Sallys Beauty or a local beauty supply store and
picked The Mane Choice products since Camille Rose didn't work for her hair. On top of having hair care products, blow dryers, flat irons and pressing combs
are purchased too. Black women look for a good blow dryer to that can blow dry their hair quicker so they can finish their hair on time and get to do other

Wash day

Wash day is not simply washing your hair with shampoo and conditioner, it is washing the hair and styling it. For black women it can take up to four hours or
the whole day to do it. To get started, collect all your products and tools that you need so you have them in front of you. Make sure you have a clean towel, depending how
thick and long your hair is you might need two. Some wash their hair in the shower or they wash it in the tub without getting their body wet. In this case it is in the
tub. Turn on the water faucet till the water is warm, you don't want it super hot or cold. Once the water is at the desire temperature, you can dip your hair under the water
till the hair is curled up. Take the shampoo of choice and shampoo the hair atleast two or three times, this depends on the type of hair it is and the condition it is in.
After shampooing, squeeze the hair to get most of the water out, then take the towel and wrap it around the hair. The towel soak up most of the water. Take a detangling comb
and part it into four sections. Take the conditioner of choice and put it into each section, make sure to work the conditioner in the hair. Leave the conditioner in the hair
for three to five minutes or whatever the bottle says. Rinse the conditioner out, make sure all of the conditioner is out. After that take the towel and dry the hair. Next take
a detangling comb or a rat tail comb to part the hair into four section, take the leave-in conditioner and put it in all four section then comb the hair using the detangling comb
After combing one section, add an curl enhancer(a styling product), hair cream and hair oil. You can oil the scalp while detangling the hair. Take a small section from the parted section
and seperate it to two strands, you are doing a twist out. Twist the hair, do this until the whole section is twisted and move on to the next section of hair. As you go along you might
need to rewet the hair by adding water in a spray bottle. After the hair are in twist, take a blow dryer with an diffuser attachment or hood to dry the hair so you don't go to bed
with wet hair. Last but not least, tie the hair up in a bonnet.
